Privacy Policy

OpenSeat is operated by Better World LLC ("we"). OpenSeat helps independent barbers and salons announce open appointment times on their own Instagram account and Facebook Page. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, business name, business timezone and brand colors.
- Your booking page: the public booking link you give us. We read the appointment times it shows publicly. We do not collect your customers' names, contact details or appointment details.
- Photos you upload for your posts. We remove location and camera data from them when you upload.
- Facebook and Instagram connection: when you connect with Facebook, we receive the name and ID of the Facebook Page and Instagram professional account you choose, the permissions you granted, and access tokens that let us publish to them. Tokens are encrypted and never shown in the app.
- Posting history: which openings we posted, where, and when, plus the post IDs Facebook and Instagram return.
- Early access list: if you join the waitlist on openseat.now, the email address you enter, which sign-up form you used, any referral tag in the link you followed (such as
?ref=), and when you signed up. We use it only to contact you about OpenSeat early access.
How we use Facebook and Instagram access
We use it only to publish posts and stories about your open appointment times, and follow-up posts when those times are taken, to the Page and Instagram account you selected, under the rules you set in the app. We do not read your messages, comments, followers or insights, and we don't post anything else.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We use service providers to run OpenSeat: Fly.io (servers), Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in) and Meta (publishing to Facebook and Instagram, at your request). They process data only to provide those services.
How long we keep data
- Generated post images and videos: deleted 30 days after posting.
- Calendar checks: deleted after 3 days.
- Your account, photos, settings and posting history: until you delete your account.
- Early access list emails: until you ask us to remove yours.
Deleting your data
You can disconnect Facebook and Instagram, or delete your whole account, at any time in the app (Settings). See our data deletion instructions. Posts already published on Facebook or Instagram stay on those platforms until you remove them there.
Security
Access tokens are encrypted at rest, every account can only see its own data, and connections use HTTPS.
